Chemist issued show-cause notice for violating rules in Chandigarh

A show-cause notice has been issued to a chemist shop in Sector 45 for violating various provision of Drug & Cosmetic Act/ Rules.

A joint team comprising Tajinder Singh, drugs inspector (South), and Anti-Narcotic Task Force, Chandigarh Police, raided M/s Komal Chemist, Sector 45, and seized allopathic drug (codeine cough syrup), which is liable to be misused.

During the raid, the shop was inspected and records of various habit-forming drugs were examined, and it came to light that the purchase/sale records and schedule H1 register were not being properly maintained.

Action under the provisions of law has been initiated against the shop in question. Further investigation is being carried out.
