Chandigarh, March 14
The 33-year-old Nigerian held with cocaine had a wide network of clients, mainly youths from the city and Mohali, who used to visit him at Delhi to buy drugs.
Sudeep Pahal (22), who had allegedly shot a 24-year-old former student leader of DAV College last week, was one of his clients.
The accused, Machael Wilfred Mbonu, was nabbed by the UT police while possessing 12.5-gram cocaine.
Sources said the Nigerian, who was presently on police remand, revealed during his interrogation that clients based in Chandigarh and Mohali used to contact him for cocaine and heroin. “Everyone used to visit Vikaspuri in Delhi to purchase drugs,” the sources added.
The police said the call detail records (CDRs) of Mbonu’s mobile phone would be analysed to locate his city-based customers.
Sudeep was introduced to Mbonu by a person, identified as Satnam. Sudeep then started visiting Delhi to purchase drugs from him, the sources said.
The investigation in the case revealed that Sudeep had purchased drugs from the accused thrice last month. — TNS
