Civil Surgeon reviews progress of NCD screening, other programmes in Mohali district
Tells Community Health Officers to intensify screening
Civil Surgeon Dr Sangeeta Jain directed the Community Health Officers (CHOs) to complete screening targets of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), preparation of ABHA IDs and progress of other programmes at the earliest. She told CHOs to intensify screening, so that people could get more qualitative healthcare facilities in the district.
She gave these instructions while addressing a one-day training session of the CHOs here today. She said the Health Department was continuously running a comprehensive campaign for screening and awareness of non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, common cancers etc so these could be detected in time. Dr Jain said these diseases often occur due to lack of screening and awareness. She shared several important points for the complete implementation of this programme.
Referring to the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, the Civil Surgeon said the Punjab Government had launched a cashless health insurance scheme of Rs 10 lakh for every resident of Punjab. She asked for the full support of the CHOs for the successful implementation of this scheme. She also said that it was necessary to make ABHA ID of patients coming to health institutions, so special attention could be given to this programme as well.
She said cleanliness should be ensured in health institutions so that a good environment could be provided to patients. She reviewed the progress of all programmes thoroughly and gave instructions for further improvement.
