Clinical establishments in Chandigarh directed to display rates for services

For the benefit of patients, all clinical establishments have to display the rates charged for various services in the local language and English.

For the benefit of patients, all clinical establishments have to display the rates charged for various services in the local language and English. The directions in this regard were issued by UT Health Secretary Mandip Singh Brar while chairing a meeting of the Chandigarh Council for Clinical Establishments here today.

Brar further directed that registration under the Clinical Establishments Act, 2010, be made mandatory for all private and public healthcare facilities, including clinics, laboratories, diagnostic centres, hospitals and nursing homes, operating under any recognised system of medicine within the jurisdiction of the UT.

During the meeting, the action taken report of the previous meeting held on September 5, 2025, was reviewed. Dr Suman Singh, Director Health & Family Welfare, Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH-16), made a detailed presentation on the status of implementation of the Clinical Establishments (Registration & Regulation) Act, 2010.

The meeting was attended by the AYUSH director, president of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), representatives from Bharat Vikas Parishad, registrar of the Dental and Pharmacy Councils and other members of the Council for Clinical Establishments, Chandigarh.
