CM flying squad, food safety officer raid Kalka godown
A team of the CM flying squad raided a godown in Kalka and seized various bottles of ‘Lahori Zeera’ drink and other items. The team has collected samples of food products from the site for testing.
The team, which included officials from the CM flying squad, Panchkula CID, and district food safety officer, was led by sub-inspector Jitender Kumar. They reached the godown, being run under the name of Gaurav Trading Company, at Bitna village in Kalka.
The officials found 140 boxes of fake ‘Lahori Zeera’ along with packets of pan masala and tobacco at the site. The team collected their samples for testing.
District food safety officer Dr Pawan Chahal said they carried out a raid at the godown after receiving a tip-off regarding the storage and sale of various non-branded and fake food items from the site. “Therefore, we carried out a checking of the site. We have collected samples of Rajnigandha Pan masala and Lahori Zeera. These have been sent to a lab for testing. Relevant action will be initiated after the receipt of the reports,” they said.
They said they also identified expired juice packets at the site.
