Mohali, June 6

A constable posted at the office of the DSP, Kharar, tested positive for Covid-19 today, taking the tally in Mohali district to 128.

Harshdeep Singh (20) of Kurali was to proceed for a basic training course at the Police Recruit Training Centre in Jahan Khelan village near Hoshiarpur. As per the protocol, anyone proceeding for training has to be tested for Covid.

Civil Surgeon Manjit Singh said the cop had been shifted to a Covid Care Centre at Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur. His contacts and the source of infection were being traced, he said, adding that they would collect samples of all officials posted at the Kharar DSP office and the family members of the constable. — TNS
