Cop succumbs to accident injuries

MOHALI: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the local Traffic Wing, who met with an accident a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries at the PGI, Chandigarh.

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the local Traffic Wing, who met with an accident a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries at the PGI, Chandigarh.

The deceased has been identified as Surinderpal Singh, who was posted at Zone 2, Traffic Wing, here.

According to sources, Surinderpal Singh, who was a native of Nawanshahr, had met with an accident with an Activa scooter when he was going on a motorcycle on June 8. The incident took place at the PTL light point, here.

He was shifted to the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali, from where he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.

The police have arrested the Activa scooter rider, identified as Amit, from Zirakpur. He was later released on bail.
