Couple dead in road accident

Kharar, June 19

Satnam Singh and his wife Sarabjit Kaur of Sacrulapur village were killed when their Activa (PB 27 E 7885) was knocked down by a canter on the Kharar-Kurali near the Chanalon Industrial Focal Point this afternoon.

The couple were crushed under the wheels of the vehicle. The wife died on the spotand her husband at the PGI. Kurali SHO Bhagwant Singh Riar said the canter driver fled. A case has been filed against the driver.

Hit by train, girl dies

Manisha, 11, a Class VI student and resident of Baltana in Zirakpur, was hit by a speeding train near Harmilap railway crossing today. She was on her way to tuition, said sources. The body was found by a GRP team.
