A local court today framed charges against Jasjit Singh, aka Bunny, son of a former Punjab Cabinet Minister, Capt Kanwaljit Singh of the SAD, in a sexual harassment case.

The charges have been framed against Bunny under Sections 354-A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. The trial is now scheduled to start on September 20.

He was booked at the Sector 4 police station in November last year.

As per the complaint, Bunny went to a salon in Sector 8 here in a drunken state and asked the receptionist for a head massage. While having a conversation with the receptionist, he touched her.

As he was drunk, he was asked to leave the premises, but at this, he started abusing the staff and used vulgar language against them. Employees then called up their owner, but he also abused her and used foul language against her. On a complaint of a woman staffer, a case was registered against Bunny and he was taken to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors confirmed that he was drunk. Bunny was later released on bail in this case.
