The tenth edition of the 10-day Chandigarh National Crafts Mela concluded on a melodic note as Sufi singer Lakhwinder Wadali enraptured the crowd at Kalagram here on Sunday.
The mela, which over the years has attained a national recognition, was organised by the UT Administration and the NZCC Patiala, in association with The Tribune.
Amid cheers from the crowd, Wadali opened up with an invocatory ‘Ganesh stuti’ and Bulleh Shah’s popular ‘Aaja yaar da deedar’. He turned to romanticism with ‘Toh koi baat bne ya na’ before the entrancing ‘Mein ho gyi qurban’. He embellished his recital with intricate ‘sargams’ and ‘alaaps’ of various ‘ragas’. Chief guest Kamal Kishore Yadav (IAS), Jitender Yadav and NZCC Director Saubhagya Vardhan felicitated the artistes.
