CSIO develops technology for treating posture disorders

CHANDIGARH: Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here has developed technology for postural stability assessment that would help in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with balance disorders.



Chandigarh, September 12

Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here has developed technology for postural stability assessment that would help in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with balance disorders.

The system would be manufactured for commercial production by joint venture, comprising of two Chandigarh-based private firms. The devices would benefit the society in general and also help those requiring rehabilitation in the Armed Forces.—TNS

The postural stability assessment is an important task that has found widespread medical and therapeutic applications. The system is used to measure the distribution of the weight of body about its centre of pressure, which governs the stability or postural balance.
