Traffic snarls were witnessed at Dasehra, especially in and around Sector 46 here. There was a huge traffic chaos on arterial roads around Sector 46 after the function concluded.

While several people have parked their vehicles close to the venue, a large number of people preferred to park their vehicles in the neighbouring sectors and walk up to the venue. Despite the presence of traffic cops, people were stuck in traffic jams for long.

Manpreet Singh, who had come to see Dasehra function at Sector 46, said it took him almost 15 minutes to drive up to Dakshin Marg due to traffic snarls.

A traffic cop said there was a huge rush since a large number of people from across the city gather at Sector 46, leading to traffic jams. The situation turned normal after around an hour.

Apart from visitors who had come to witness the Dasehra celebrations, commuters and local residents also had to face inconvenience. The situation in Sector 34 was no different as a huge rush was witnessed on the inner road opposite to the Sector 34 market.

Traffic moved at a snail’s pace spelling chaos on roads connecting Sector 34. Wrong parking at various places in Sectors 46 and 34 further added to the chaos. Traffic snarls were also witnessed around Sector 17 after the function concluded. Traffic diversions made by the traffic police around all three venues turned the situation little better.
