Dev Inder-Eshaan stay afloat

CHANDIGARH:Dev Inder Singh Bagga and Eshaan Duggal registered a 15-4 15-10 win over Imran Shaik and Abdul Rahman Syed to ease into the third qualifying round of the boys’ U-19 category in the ongoing All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Championship at the Sector 43 Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Dev Inder Singh Bagga and Eshaan Duggal registered a 15-4 15-10 win over Imran Shaik and Abdul Rahman Syed to ease into the third qualifying round of the boys’ U-19 category in the ongoing All-India Junior Ranking Badminton Championship at the Sector 43 Sports Complex here on Wednesday. 

Aniketh Reddy and Sai Prudhvi Saranam edged Ankit Kadyan and Ankur Manderna 15-9 15-11, while Rohit Kumar and Nikhil ousted Dorje Tamang and Devraj Thakur 15-4 15-11. Suraj Goala and Anshuman Gogoi drubbed Khooshee Kumar and Mayan Sinha 15-10 15-3 in the qualifiers. 

Ronit Anjana and Vaibhav Yadav rallied from a game down to overcome Lokeshwaran and Rahul 18-20 15-10 15-13.

Srikar moves ahead

Srikar Madina, meanwhile, downed Vasu Rana 15-11 15-10 to move into the final qualifying round of the boys’ U-19 singles. 

Imran Shaik prevailed over Siddhant Babbar 15-11 8-15 15-11, while Nikhil Mehlawat beat Nakshatra Babbar 15-5 15-9. Rohit Singh drubbed Charan Naik 15-7 15-9 in the qualifiers. 

Aditya Chouhan had an easy outing as he edged Arjun Mathur 15-10 15-9. Gandhar Nawale overcame Abhinaav 15- 6 9-15 15-8. 

In the girls’ U-19 qualifiers, Ramya defeated Apoorva 15-9 15-8, while Riya Kunjir got the better of Manjari Roy. Devika Sihag managed a 15-10 15-11 win over Ritika Dabas and Abhilasha packed off Rashi 15-7 17-15.

Anuj Gupta bt Anirudh Pandey 15-13 16-18 15-10, Aayush Khandekar bt Andrew Kotzem 12-15 15-12 15-11, Neer Bhardwaj bt Somi Gurrani 16-14 15-12, Prashant Kumar bt Poosarla Chakradhar 15-12 15-9, Kavin Thangam bt Tilak 9-15 15-9 15-1, Gautam bt Adrash Subramanian 15-8 15-7
