Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria today inspected several key public sites in the city to assess infrastructure and facilities.
The Administrator inspected the Japanese Garden in Sector 31 and the Garden of Palms and the lake in Sector 42. He reviewed the park facilities and directed the departments concerned to improve the maintenance of walking tracks, benches and fencing, ensure cleanliness, and maintain adequate water levels in the lake.
The Administrator also inspected the Botanical Garden at Sarangpur, where he advised officials to develop the garden as a major tourist attraction. During the visit, he inaugurated the hi-tech nursery — advanced plant propagation unit, established to raise healthy and fast-growing saplings using modern technology. The facility will support afforestation, eco-restoration and urban greening, while promoting biodiversity and the efficient use of resources.
Later, the Administrator inspected the community centre in Sector 38 where he reviewed the existing infrastructure and facilities.
