Devika Sihag won a rich haul of gold medals in the 1st Ashwani Gupta Memorial Tri-City Prize Money Badminton Tournament at the Sector 3 Tau Devi Lal Stadium here today.

She won two singles and two doubles titles. In the girls’ U-19 final, she defeated Chandigarh’s Garima Singh 21-15 21-11. She repeated her performance against the same opponent to win the women’s title. She won the first game 21-17, but Garima bounced back 21-9 to level the scores. In the final game, Devika played calmly and pulled off a 21-19 victory. 

In the girls’ U-19 doubles final, Devika paired with Ridhi to overcome a tough challenge from Garima and Vrinda 23-21 18-21 22-20. In the open mixed doubles final, Akshit and Devika beat Abhishek and Jagriti 21-19 22-20.

In the women’s doubles final, Chandigarh’s Garima and Ishita came from one game down to defeat Jagriti and Daman 18-21 21-8 21-18. Dhruv Bansal won the boys’ U-19 title by registering a 21-16 21-17 win over Anushrav. In the men’s final, Abhishek Saini defeated Ayush Gautam 21-16 21-17. 

Dhruv and Gurbaks defeated Anushrav and Rishabh 22-20 21-12 to win the boys’ U-19 doubles final. Akshit and Varun teamed up to win the men’s doubles title by defeating Ketan and Gaurav 21-15 22-20. 

In the mixed doubles U-19 final, Anushrav and Naina beat Dhruv and Kanishka 21-12 21-15.
