Discotheques continue to flout deadline

Zirakpur: Despite instructions of Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra issued several months ago, a few discotheques here were found running beyond permissible time.



Zirakpur: Despite instructions of Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra issued several months ago, a few discotheques here were found running beyond permissible time. Though the police had conducted raids to ensure that no pubs or night clubs remain open past midnight and the orders were being adhered to, it was found that some discotheques were still flouting the norm. Residents said discotheque owners were flouting norms and were not closing down at the prescribed timings. As per the orders, these were supposed to be shut at 12 am. However, the police said no case had been registered yet in this regard. OC
