Divit, Trishi win U-11 table tennis titles

Divit Bansal of Manav Mangal School, Sector 21, won the boys’ U-11 title by defeating Nivaan Saini of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, during the 38th Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship at the Sector 50 Sports Complex.

Bansal won the first two games 11-5 12-10, but Saini bounced back with a 7-11 12-14 verdict in the next two. In the final, Bansal kept his calm to take home the title with a 11-4 win.

Trishi of Gurukul Global School, Sector 13, won the girls’ U-13 title by overpowering tough challenger Avni Gupta from her school. Trishi started with a 6-11 defeat, but came back with a 11-9 11-9 11-8 favourable result. Ekampreet defeated Mehul 11-5 10-12 11-1 12-10 In the boys’ U-13 final. Garvita won the girls’ U-13 gold medal by recording a 11-8 11-8 11-2 win over Bhavisha.

Parth Malhotra of Strawberry School won the U-15 event by defeating Abhinav Kaushik of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, with the score line 13-11 5-11 13-11 11-6.

Sherrel of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, bagged the girls’ U-15 title by defeating Aanya 11-3 11-3 11-6.
