Reema Dewan, Principal, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh attended the European Education Summit in Finland.



Reema Dewan, Principal, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh attended the European Education Summit in Finland. She met officials from international high schools and universities and discussed potential partnerships for student and faculty exchange programmes, besides exploring student-scholarship programmes with European universities. 

Mount Carmel

A workshop to impart first-aid training to students was organised at Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, Chandigarh. Shashi Tiwar, senior staff nurse, from Shalby Hospital told the students about the importance of first-aid. The ways to give first help in case of fracture, bleeding, choking and cardio pulmonary resuscitation were demonstrated. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya

The first session of ‘Know Your Music’ series was organised at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh. Alankar Singh, assistant professor in the Department of Music, Panjabi University, Patiala, was the distinguished guest. He spoke about the importance of knowing one’s culture and remaining true to it. The school also organised a Hindi solo singing competition for students of Pre-Nursery and Nursery wings. 

Shishu Niketan 

Class II students of Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 43-A, Chandigarh, were taken to a gurdwara to mark Guru Nanak Jayanti. They paid their reverence to the Guru Granth Sahib. They also participated in a short prayer and were told about the importance of the day. Later, prasad was distributed among all.

DAV-8

DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh, celebrated joy of giving. Children and staff collected socks for donation to various organisations of the society. Nearly 174 pairs were donated to Kushtashram, 174 pairs to Maharishi Bal Ashram and 155 pairs to Snehalya.

Saupin’s School

Saupin’s School, Panchkula, celebrated Gurpurb with enthusiasm. Tiny-tots were taken to a gurdwara where they offered prayers. Teachers told the students about the Sikh culture and stories of Guru Nanak Dev. Later, they participated in shabad recitation. 

Blue Bird

Gurpurb was celebrated at Blue Bird High School, Panchkula, with fervour. A special assembly was organised in which speeches highlighting the life history and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev were delivered.  

DAV, Mohali

A state-level poster making competition was organised by BBMB Ministry of Power at Indradhanush Auditorium, Panchkula. The theme was to make the students aware about the harmful effects of tobacco.
