Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across Fatehgarh Sahib district with religious fervour, enthusiasm and a spirit of communal harmony. Large congregations gathered at mosques, particularly at Roza Sharif in Fatehgarh Sahib, to offer special prayers seeking peace, prosperity and well-being for all.
After the prayers, people greeted one another with warm embraces and exchanged Eid wishes, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and togetherness associated with the festival.
The Khalifa of Roza Sharif, Syed Mohammad Sadiq Raza Mujaddi, highlighted the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramzan. He said Ramzan symbolises self-discipline, sacrifice and inner purification, while Eid marks the culmination of this spiritual journey.
He emphasised that the festival encourages charity through zakat and sadaqah, promoting social equality and compassion for the underprivileged. He added that all religions preach humanity, love and unity.
MLA Lakhvir Singh Rai, former MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra and former Minister Dr Harbans Lal visited Roza Sharif and other mosques to extend greetings to members of the Muslim community. They said Eid conveys a strong message of abandoning hatred and embracing love, thereby strengthening communal harmony and mutual respect in society.
Special prayers were also offered at other mosques across the district, where people from different communities joined in exchanging greetings and sharing the festive spirit.
