Mohali, April 13
Eight suspects, including two women, have been arrested, who were planning to rob an ATM in Mullanpur Garibdas.
The suspects — Suman Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sonu Shah, Sumit, Anuj Kumar, Seema, Shalu and Sunil Kumar — were nabbed near Gurdwara Amb Sahib. They were planning to rob the Punjab and Sindh Bank ATM near Sri Ratwara Sahib in Mullanpur. The police said the suspects had planned to rob other banks and ATM also.
Sharp-edged weapons, iron rods, cutters, a car, an auto, a bike and other tools, which were to be used in the robbery, have been seized.
A case has been registered at the Phase VIII police station. Most of the suspects belong to Bihar and UP and are teenagers. — TNS
