Encroachers challaned in Chandigarh

The enforcement wing of the Municipal Corporation today carried out an anti-encroachment drive across the city. A total of 71 challans were issued to violators.

The drive was primarily conducted in Industrial Area, Phase I, where encroachments were removed from roadside. The violators had encroached on roadside by placing plastic chairs, sofa sets, swings, steel counters, tables, revolving chairs and mechanical jacks. A total of 61 challans were issued to violators.

A follow-up drive was conducted in Sector 20, particularly near parking areas, where seven rehris obstructing public pathways were removed. Ten challans were issued to offenders.
