Encroachments removed from roadsides, market in Panchkula

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, the city traffic police conducted a special drive against encroachments in Sector 20 market and adjoining roads in coordination with the Panchkula Municipal Corporation.

During the drive led by ACP (Traffic) Surender Dudi, illegal rehris, pull carts and stalls, hindering traffic flow, were removed from roadsides, providing relief to commuters who had been facing inconvenience due to congestion in the area.

During the course of the action, the traffic police impounded one modified Pick-Up vehicle and one motorcycle, while the Municipal Corporation seized rehris, and pull carts operating illegally  in the market area.

Speaking on the occasion, ACP (Traffic) Surender Dudi said that encroachments on public roads and in market areas disrupted traffic movement and increased the risk of accidents.

He added that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to ensure safe and smooth traffic management. Dudi warned the violators of strict action.

The traffic police have appealed to shopkeepers and rehri operators to conduct their business only at designated places and cooperate with the administration in maintaining orderly traffic conditions in the city.
