Chandigarh, June 13
The Met Department has predicted rain on June 15 night or June 16 due to approaching western disturbances.
“From June 15 to June 17, thunderstorms with gusty winds are predicted,” said Surender Paul, Director, Met Department, Chandigarh.
“The monsoon is on time. Pre-monsoon showers could hit the city in the last week of June,” he said.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city on Wednesday was 42.3°C, three degrees above normal. The normal is the average temperature data over the past three decades. “The high humidity level these days is making the heat unbearable,” he said.
On May 22, the city had recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C, while on May 23, it was 42.6°C. — TNS
