Expedite Dhakoli railway overbridge: DC to civic officials

Taking into view the future issues that may arise with the railway underpass at Dhakoli, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain today asked the Zirakpur MC officials to immediately submit the proposal of a overbridge instead to the railway officials with immediate effect.

Chairing a joint meeting of the Zirakpur MC and railway officials along with Dera Bassi Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Gupta at District Administrative Complex, Mohali, today, Jain stressed height issues, waterlogging issues and high volume of traffic, the feasibility of railway underpass at Dhakoli would not prove beneficial in the long run.

The DC said the clear height of the approved railway underpass has been described as 3.35 metre, which is half of the height of Baltana point of intersection of NHAI. —TNS
