The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, on Friday held an international seminar titled “Ramifications of Emerging Geo-Political Flux in Bangladesh and Myanmar”.

The seminar served as a high-level strategic forum where a global panel of military legends, diplomatic experts and legal luminaries engaged in a rigorous synthesis of the escalating geopolitical complexities.

A primary contribution of the seminar was the detailed examination of the “South Asian Paradox”. The experts deliberated on the staggering reality that while the region held the potential to be a global economic powerhouse, it remained the least integrated neighborhood in the world. The deliberations highlighted that despite sharing a deep-rooted historical legacy, common cultural threads, and intertwined linguistic and religious ties, regional progress remained hostage to a lack of cohesiveness and deep-seated suspicion.

The panel of keynote speakers featured General VP Malik, Lt Gen KJ Singh, Lt Gen Arun Sahni, Jyoti Malhotra (Editor-in-Chief, The Tribune Publications), Maj Gen J S Nanda, Dr Tania Amir and Dr Rami Desai.
