Female nursing officer found dead at Panchkula Civil Hospital

A female nursing officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 here on Sunday night.

Victim Preeti Beniwal was found dead in the ICU while on duty. The incident came to light when shift changed. Other staff arrived for duty and found her lying on the floor near the store area. Her phone was missing from the scene.

Hailing from Juglan village in Hisar, Preeti lived with her family in Sector 31 here. She had joined the job in 2024 and had her first posting at the Panchkula Civil Hospital.

According to sources, a forensic team found suspicious injections near the spot and took them in its possession.

According to the victim’s family members, Preeti had left home around 2 pm and was to return around 8 pm. When she did not reach home on time, her family members started making enquiries.

The family members rushed to the hospital on getting information about the incident from its administration. The post-mortem report will reveal the cause of death. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
