Field survey of properties likely to conclude by January 31
Nearly 7,000 properties in Chandigarh being surveyed under NAKSHA pilot project
The UT Administration is likely to complete the field survey of nearly 7,000 properties, including commercial and residential, under the NAKSHA (National geospatial knowledge-based land survey of urban habitations) pilot project by January 31.
A review meeting of the project was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav where the progress of field survey and ground-truthing activities was assessed. During the meeting, it was informed that in Sectors 2 to 17, there are approximately 7,000 properties, including both residential and commercial units. Out of these, around 4,500 properties have already been physically visited by the NAKSHA field teams for ground truthing and verification.
At present, about 20 field teams are deployed daily for the survey work. The entire exercise is expected to be completed by January 31.
The DC emphasised the importance of timely completion of the pilot project, which was crucial for creating accurate and reliable property records.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, officials from the Survey of India, representatives of the NIC, MC, National Project Monitoring Unit, Delhi, and MPSEDC, Bhopal.
