Five puppies poisoned in Zirakpur

Five puppies were reportedly poisoned to death by unidentified person while several others were taken ill at a dog shelter here on Wednesday.

Activists of an NGO alleged that laddoos laced with poison were fed to the dogs. Dog shelter owner Sukhraj, an activist with Rabb de Jeev, said five puppies, around one month old, died while 17 others were ill. The poison was given around two days ago. He demanded the CCTV footage of the area be checked.

The police are investigating the matter.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
