CBI sleuths today arrested a Haryana District Food and Supply Inspector while allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh in Sector 7. The suspect has been identified as Rajesh Bansal.
Sources said Bansal took bribe from an Ambala-based transporter for changing the allotment of a godown from Rewari to Kurukshetra. Bansal is posted at the Directorate of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs in Sector 17.
A team of CBI sleuths also carried out a search at the house of the inspector in Sector 15, Panchkula. The search continued till late in the evening. The sources said Bansal had demanded a bribe of Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh was the first instalment.
