Mohali, October 14

Four auto-rickshaw-borne unidentified miscreants allegedly looted around Rs 4.25 lakh from a man after hitting him with sticks at Phase 7 here today.

According to sources, the incident took place around 1:30 pm when the victim, identified as Brijesh, who works at a private shop in Sector 70, was going on an Activa scooter to deposit cash belonging to his employer in a private bank at Phase 7.

The sources said the spot where the loot was committed was a stone’s throw from the Mataur police station. “The robbers, who were armed with sticks, assaulted Brijesh, following which he fell down.
