Four new cases surface in Mohali


Mohali: As many as four new positive cases surfaced in Mohali, taking the count in the district to 208. Those infected are a 23-year-old youth from Zirakpur, a 56-year-old man from Peermuchalla, Zirakpur, and a 48 year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, both residents of Baltana, Zirakpur. Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said the 23-year-old patient had recently returned from Delhi, whereas the 56-year-old is influenza-like illness (ILI) case. He said the Baltana patients were contacts of already positive cases. Dr Manjit Singh said all patients had been admitted to the Covid Care Centre in Gian Sagar Hospital, Banur. He said four positive patients had recovered and discharged from Gian Sagar Hospital today. He said a 22-year-old girl from Bheda village, two men, aged, 25 and 57, residents of Dera Bassi¸ and a 29-year-old man from Palm Enclave in Kharar were discharged from the hospital. The district now has 67 active cases, whereas 138 patients have recovered and three died due to the disease. TNS
