Chandigarh: Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, won the inter-school basketball championship for girls U-17 category. They defeated Vivek High School, Sector 38, 44-27 to win the title. Niharika contributed 20 points in the win while Jasleen added 16 points to the tally. Prachi scored eight points and Aditi contributed six for the Vivek High girls.

Dhawan bags four in MBM win  

Chandigarh: A fine bowling performance by Dhawan (4/16) helped Master Blasters Mohali beat Green Valley, Kharar, by 18 runs in the ongoing 9th Gold Cup U-14 Championship. The Mohali outfit posted 119/8 in 25 overs with the help of Ashutoush (25), Uday (18), Arvinder (18) and Aditya (12). Sahil claimed three wickets, while Madhav claimed two. In reply, the Green Valley boys were bundled out for 101 runs in 21.1 overs. Vardan and Jatinder claimed two wickets each. Mohit (35) and Madhav (31) were the main contributors in the chase.

Gurinder, Jasleen win gold 

Chandigarh: Shuttlers Gurinder Jeet and Jasleen Kaur won the men and women category final, respectively, on the concluding day of the annual sports meet of Outline Systems India Limited. The accounts team won the cricket final. 

VM Stars log easy win in cricket 

Chandigarh: VM Stars defeated Icon of Humanity by 10 runs in the Lawyers Cricket Championship for Justice VK Bali Trophy. Batting first, VM Stars posted 150 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Openers Shubhendu Kaushik (60) and Saurabh Ahuja (52) started off well. Ashwat (21) was the other notable scorer for the side. Raghav and Sandeep claimed three wickets each, while Vishal, Rajiv and Aditya took one each. In reply, Icon of Humanity posted 140/8 in 20 overs. Mayank (27), Aditya (23), Vivek (21) and Raghav (17) contributed in the total. 

Daman confirm Achiever’s win 

Panchkula: Achiever Compitech defeated Cessar Blaster by 92 runs in the first Corporate Day-Night Cricket Tournament. Batting first, Achiever Compitech posted 140 runs with the help of Daman Kanpuria (67) and Ravi (24). In reply, Cessar Blaster were bundled out for 48 runs. Deepak Bhardwaj claimed four wickets. TNS
