The police have booked an unidentified person for snatching a gold earring from an 83-year-old resident of Sector 44.

The incident occurred near the Laxmi Narayan Temple in Sector 44, when an unidentified pedestrian allegedly snatched the complainant’s gold earring and fled the scene. The police are examining CCTV footage from the vicinity and have launched a search operation in nearby areas.

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, member of the Law and Order Standing Committee of the Administrators’ Advisory Council, has expressed concern over the snatching incident in which the woman lost her chain during her morning walk in a local park.

A case under Section 304(2) of the BNS has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.
