Govt schools in Chandigarh 19.4% jump in pass %age

Chandigarh, August 3

The government schools in the city recorded a pass percentage of 96.6, seeing a jump of 19.4 per cent, in the Class X CBSE results this year. The pass percentage was 77.2 last year. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, schools were forced to shut down and the CBSE did not conduct the examinations. The pass percentage of government schools in 2019 was 75.27. In 2017-18, only 48.51 per cent of the students had passed the exams.

Out of the 11,291 students, who were assessed this year, results of 11,286 have been declared and 10,905 pupils have come out with flying colours. There are 93 government high and senior secondary schools in Chandigarh. A total of 65 schools have given 100 per cent result. — TNS
