Gurdeep, Jaskaran, Rakhi win judo gold

CHANDIGARH:Gurdeep defeated Krish to claim the judo gold medal in the male (16-21 years) U-55kg category on the concluding day of the three-day National Sports Meet for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, organised by the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID).

Chandigarh, December 3

Gurdeep defeated Krish to claim the judo gold medal in the male (16-21 years) U-55kg category on the concluding day of the three-day National Sports Meet for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, organised by the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID). 

Rahul Sharma claimed the third position and Yammean finished fourth. In the male 16-21 years category, Jaskaran won the top position by defeating Baljeet Singh. Rahul defeated Jasbir to claim the third position.

In the girls (12-15 years) U-44kg event, Rakhi defeated Priyanka in the final bout. In the women (+21 years) U-57kg final, G Revathi of Andhra Pradesh's Rural Development Trust (RDT) defeated Vanneshwari.

Smaira of Ambala won the girls (7-11 years) rink race (II) 300m inline final, while Sunaina from GRIID won the girls (7-11 years) rink race (IV) 300m quads final.

In the boys (12-15 years) rink race (II) 300m quads final event, Anshu, Vaibhav Singh and Rahul Bains claimed the top here positions, respectively. Sukhpreet Singh won the boys (12-15 years) rink race (II) 300 learner event. Ankit finished second and Rajat claimed the third position.

In the boys (12-15 years) rink race (IV) 300m inline category, Tanshu claimed the gold medal, while Anshu won the silver medal. Vasmthi won the girls (12-15 years) rink race (II) 300m inline event, while M Kaveri finished second.

Pehl Amritsar defeated RDT Andhra Pradesh 13-4 to win the boys’ U-14 handball title, while RDT Andhra Pradesh overpowered Pehl Amritsar 8-3 to win the girls’ U-14 final. Anu won the U-23 shooting gold, with Harleen finishing second. T Kaushalaya and Diksha claimed the joint third position.

In the girls’ +23 years category, G Alive and M Kavitha claimed first and positions, respectively. Sita and Shalu ended up at tied third. In the boys’ U-18 category, Balaram Reddy won the title, while Shreyas ended up second. Himanshu and Harsh were tied third at the end of the last round. —TNS
