Kharar, April 7

A Hamirpur resident has been arrested for duping a person on the pretext of helping him withdraw money from an ATM on February 24.

The suspect, Nikhil Thakur, currently residing in Balongi, bought a gold pendant worth Rs20,000 after exchanging the card with the victim.

A total of 12 ATM cards of various banks have been confiscated from him.

A case has been registered against the suspect under Section 380 of the IPC and Section 66-D of the IT Act at the Kharar City police station.

The suspect has already been booked at various police stations for ATM theft/money transfer fraud. — TNS
