Haryana batters recorded a nine-wicket win over Chandigarh in the final of the Visually Impaired Women’s Triangular Cricket Tournament at the GMSSS, Sector 26, grounds. Chasing 162, Haryana eves scored 163/1 in 14.1 overs as Deepa Saxena posted 61 off 44 balls, studded with thee boundaries, while skipper Vrinda scored 40 off 23 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes. After Vrinda retired out, Nikita Kanathe posted a quickfire 21 off 16 balls, and Sushila Chouhan scored unbeaten four for the title winners.

Earlier, Chandigarh eves posted 162/5 in the allotted 15 overs. Savita topped the score chart with 28, followed by Jiya (26), Dhanika (23) and Divya (22). Jagriti Chaubey (9), Harleen Kaur (6) and Khushi (5) also contributed in the total. Vrinda, Ladli Khatun and Deepa picked a wicket each for the bowling side.

The tournament was conducted under the control of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and the Cricket Association for the Visually Challenged Persons, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Institute for the Blind, under the aegis of the Society for the Care of the Blind, Sector 26.
