Chandigarh: Four chairs designed by French architect Le Corbusier and his associate Pierre Jeanneret were sold at Rs 65 lakh in an auction held in Paris on Thursday. While a pair of armchairs designed by Corbusier and Jeanneret was sold at Rs 48 lakh, a pair of chairs fetched Rs 17 lakh. Ajay Jagga, a member of the Heritage Protection Committee, in a letter to Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and the Director Revenue Intelligence said it was unfortunate that nothing was done to prevent the auction despite giving advance intimation about the auction. — TNS
