Himachal Police IG's son booked for assaulting woman in Panchkula

Panchkula Police have registered an FIR against the son of a Himachal Pradesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) following allegations of assault and misconduct on the Kalka-Shimla highway.

According to a police complaint filed by a woman, the incident occurred when the accused, accompanied by security personnel and his mother, allegedly created a ruckus and misbehaved with her family, who were travelling in an SUV.

The complainant stated that the IG’s juvenile son, along with security guards, was travelling in an official vehicle and allegedly abused and vandalised the car during an altercation while her family was inside.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation.
