Hitesh Sahu clocked 1 hour and 18:26 seconds and Ishita 2.23:33s to win men’s and women’s 21km event, respectively, of the 14th edition of the Punjab Half Marathon.

In the men’s 10km run, Garva Pooniya clocked 36:24s to win the race, while Aradhya completed the race in 1.3:01s to claim the top honours in the women’s category. In the male and female 5km event, Stephan Van Der Merwe (20:14s) and Koshin Parik (25:54s) won the gold medals, respectively.

The 28 per cent of the participants were female. In a heartening addition, 15 visually impaired runners from Punjab University also took part. Maj Gen Mathew Jacob, Commandant of Military Hospital, Western Command, awarded the winners.
