The boys and girls U-17 teams of hosts Vivek High School, Mohali, won twin titles during the concluding day of the Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy (BSMBT) held at Sector 78 Sports Complex.

In the boys U-17 category, Vivek High School lifted the title by recording a 44-38 win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32. Aditya scored 25 points to help the hosts win the title easily. Apaar Sood made his best effort to reduce the margin by contributing 15 points for the Sector 32 team. Learning Paths School (LPS), Mohali, claimed third position. The girls U-17 team of the host school recorded a 45-40 win over Yadavindra Public School, Mohali.

Kashvi scored 22 points for the winning side, while Ananya was the highest scorer for the losing side. LPS eves also claimed third position. Meanwhile, KV High Ground School, Chandigarh lifted the boys U-14 trophy by defeating YPS 32-27. Ankush (16 points) was the highest scorer for the title winners, and Gurmat scored 10 points for the Mophali team. Vivek High School, Mohali, claimed the third position.

The boys’ U-12 team of Police Public School defeated the hosts 34-23 to win the title. Vansh alone scored 12 points for the title winners, whereas the Mohali team claimed the third position.

Jiya contributed 12 points as Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, won the girls U-14 title by defeating the hosts 28-18. Trasha scored six points for the host team and YPS-Mohali claimed third position. Sacred Heart team won their second title by winning the girls U-12 title. The Sector 26 team defeated LPS 22-12 in the final with Naisha scoring maximum of 12 points, and Sanvi adding six points for the losing team. Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali, claimed the third position.

In the boys U-17 category, Aditya Nagpal claimed the title of player of the tournament, while in the boys U-14 category, Ankush won the same title. In the boys U-12 category, Gurjot Singh was adjudged player of tournament. Kashvi bagged the same title in the girls U-17 category, followed by Jiya in the girls U-14 category and Naisha in girls U-12 category winning the same title.

Amar Jyoti Chawla, Principal, Vivek High School, Mohali; and Renu Puri, Principal, Vivek High School, Sector 38, awarded the winners.
