Panchkula, February 24

The Panchkula police have booked the owner of a private hotel in Sector 32 for alleged unauthorised colonisation and illegal advertisement of those plots without obtaining a licence from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) of Haryana.

As per DTCP officials, the owner of Hotel North Park, identified as Rahul Sharma, was advertising plots without obtaining a license from the DTCP Haryana in Contravention of Section 7(I)) Of Haryana, Development and Regulation to Urban Area, Act 8.

“The site of the hotel falls within the notified urban area of Panchkula and does not have several licences for the carving out of the colony and land,” read the FIR, quoting DTCP officials.

The DTCP has urged the police to take action against the “offender” to immediately stop ‘unauthorised colonisation’.

The department has also attached advertisement of plots through pamphlets with the site plan as proof, along with video graphs and photographs of the site. A case was registered at the Chandimandir police station.
