Hry Roadways driver thrashed in Ambala

AMBALA:A Haryana Roadways driver of the Yamunanagar depot was thrashed by some persons on the Ambala-Jagadhri road in Mullana here today.

A Haryana Roadways driver of the Yamunanagar depot was thrashed by some persons on the Ambala-Jagadhri road in Mullana here today.

According to information, some youths boarded a Roadways bus in Mullana around 11 am and started thrashing the driver. Later, they pulled the driver out of the bus and thrashed him on the road too.

They alleged that the driver had passed some lewd comments at a girl in the bus following which he was thrashed. After thrashing the driver, the youths fled from the spot. They also reportedly attacked the conductor, but he was saved by people. The bus driver was rushed to a hospital.

Refuting the allegations, the bus driver said: “He had an argument with a person. Later, the girl also got involved in it following which she called some persons.”

After getting information, the police reached the spot. The police said the exact reason behind the incident was still not clear. The driver was undergoing treatment at a hospital. He was yet to give his statement while the opposite party had also not sought any action in the matter so far. A case was yet to be registered.
