Human rights commission takes suo motu cognisance of Lohgarh dog-bite incident
The Punjab State Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of the incident in which five people, including two children, were bitten by a stray dog in Lohgarh.
The Tribune had on Sunday reported the incident.
The Commission headed by chairperson Justice Sant Parkash, has called for a report from Zirakpur Municipal Council EO, Mohali Municipal Corporation Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner to be submitted a week before the next date of hearing i.e. March 28.

Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy, Pratham Sharma, was bitten by a stray dog near his house in Phase-2.
The victim was headed to a shop in the neighbourhood when the dog attacked him and bit him on his leg and hand.
The victim’s father said there are six teeth marks and flesh has also been off his son’s leg. A complaint has been submitted to the MC Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.
