City BJP chief Jatinder Pal Malhotra termed the decision of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan as the victory of the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Malhotra said the government showed to Pakistan that it would not compromise on the issue of terrorism. If terrorist activities were planned and executed from the Pakistan soil, India had power and right to eliminate those responsible for this. He said India had brought Pakistan to its knees in a few days. He said despite the ceasefire, India would have to be careful in future as “we cannot believe Pakistan, which had repeatedly backstabbed our country”. The Pahalgam killings were the worst form of terror as Hindus were killed by the terrorists after asking their religion.

Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla said Pakistan agreed to the ceasefire only after witnessing the strength and strong willpower of India.
