Jagadhari cylinder burst victims undergo treatment at PGIMER
Child critical, four shifted to Burn ICU for specialised management
All 10 members of a family who suffered serious burn injuries in a cylinder burst at Jagadhari have been undergoing treatment at the PGIMER here.
Four adults and six children of a family suffered serious burn injuries after a burst in an LPG cylinder at a labour quarter in Bherthal village of Yamunanagar district approximately 8 am on Thursday. All injured were brought to the Advanced Trauma Centre (ATC), PGIMER, here at around 2 pm.
According to a statement issued by the PGIMER, one child, with approximately 60 per cent burns, is in a critical condition and has been intubated.
Three others-two children and one adult-have sustained more than 75 per cent burns involving the face, neck, and chest. The remaining victims have sustained 35-40 per cent burns, primarily affecting the upper parts of the body.
The PGIMER stated that all patients have been provided immediate medical care at the ATC.
Four victims have been shifted to the ‘Burn ICU’ for specialised management, while the remaining patients have been admitted to the Plastic Surgery Ward.
