Juvenile ‘rapes’ 3-yr-old niece

CHANDIGARH:A 13-year-old boy has been apprehended for raping his three-year-old niece at Maloya.

Chandigarh, January 20

A 13-year-old boy has been apprehended for raping his three-year-old niece at Maloya. The police said the suspect, who stays near the victim’s house in Maloya, went to her house on Saturday afternoon. On finding her alone, he raped her. The girl started crying.

In the meantime, the victim’s mother returned and caught the boy. Neighbours also gathered there. The juvenile could not flee from the spot. 

The police were informed about the incident. Cops reached the spot and apprehended the suspect.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment.

A case under Section 376 AB (punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered at the Maloya police station. 

The suspect has been sent to the Juvenile Home in Sector 25.
