Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria honours city golfers
Felicitation ceremony organised by the Chandigarh Golf Association
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria honoured Chandigarh golfers, who bagged laurels in various national and international events, at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) today.
Senior-most Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, Shubhankar Sharma, Gaganjit Singh Bhullar, Karandeep Kochhar and others were awarded by Kataria. The Administrator congratulated the golfers for bagging laurels.
Sandhu, who is currently the top ranked professional in the PGTI Order of Merit, recorded seven titles in the last season and secured his DP World Tour card for 2026. Jeev, a 2007 Padma Shri awardee, won the IGPL Invitational Sri Lanka in the last leg of the event and became one of the oldest winners of a professional tour event at the age of 54. Bhullar, Arjuna Awardee and Multiple Asian Tour winner, also made a mark in the IGPL, besides promoting regional golf, and Sharma, another Arjuna Awardee, played the DP World Tour and remained the highest-profile golfer from the city on the global stage.
Kochhar, who bagged the Asian Development Tour (ADT), and won the Egypt Red Sea Open last year, was awarded for securing a full Asian Tour card for 2026 and also leaving a mark in the IGPL. Angad Cheema, who secured back-to-back titles at the Kapil Dev invitational and the Coal India Open 2025, alongside Ajeetesh Sandhu, who finished 77th on the 2025 Asian Tour Order of Merit, were also awarded.
Female golfers Tvesa Malik, Amandeep Drall, Heena Kang, Mannat Brar, Guntas Kaur Sandhu along with Harjai Milkha Singh, Krish Chawla, Neil Jolly, Ceerat Kang, Danish Verma and Jaibir Singh Kang were also felicitated.
