handigarh’s Krish Chawla bagged fifth position at the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Eastern India Junior Golf Championship being held at the Golmuri Golf Club in Jamshedpur. Chawla ended his campaign at the fifth position with a total score of 11-under par and carded scores of 66, 68, 69 and 73.

Currently ranked 816th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and among the top 10 amateur golfers in India, the Chandigarh youngster said, “It was challenging to play back-to-back tournaments. Last week, I won at the Tollygunge Golf Club with a 13-under par in my category. Maintaining consistency while managing fatigue is tough, but I’m excited about the upcoming tournaments, including the All India Junior Golf Championship at the KGA Bengaluru.”

Chawla, a student at Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, is coached by Jesse Grewal at the Chandigarh Golf Academy. His success in national competitions has propelled him to the forefront as he now ranks among the top-5 under-18 golfers.
