The L& T company which is constructing the flyover from Balaungi to Khanpur, finally swung into action to repair the portion of road from Sunny Enclave to Khanpur, which was in a very bad condition.
Notably, the plight of the dilapidated state of the road was highlighted in The Tribune on July 15. The company came into action and a wet mix of macadam was laid and graded on the road. When asked about it, Tej Bahader Singh, an officer of the company, said the waterlogging in the road took due to lack of exit points for rainwater.
He added, “We are putting our best efforts to minimise the inconvenience faced by people. Continuous rain and plying of heavy vehicles was creating the trouble as all repairs get washed away.”
According to information, the problem was further compounded due to the sluggish construction work of drains on both sides of the road.
The drain will be completed when all the required structures will be demolished. It is worth mentioning that about 100 structures were yet to be demolished by the administration.
Krishan Sachdeva, Project Director, NHAI, said the road would be repaired soon. He urged the administration to demolish the required structures the construction work would be completed soon.
